Mission

Together, let's reshape behavioral health care in New Hampshire

As a policy and advocacy organization, our mission is to support and strengthen a comprehensive and integrated System of Care for children and youth who experience behavioral health challenges in New Hampshire. The system of care is youth and family driven, community based, culturally and linguistically competent, and trauma informed.

Our commitments include

  • Putting effective practices to work
  • Collaborating across partners
  • Guiding our work by the Children’s Behavioral Health Plan
  • Keeping system of care values front and center.

We believe that carrying out the nine goals in our plan will deliver better care for children with behavioral health needs. Key ideas in the plan include:

  • Deliver centralized, individualized community-based services and supports that bring youth and families into service planning for youth with serious behavioral health needs
  • Build a lasting way to grow the behavioral health workforce by recruiting and training new professionals, supporting current ones, and promoting best practices
  • To identify and address behavioral health problems earlier in a range of settings including schools, primary care, and child care
  • Integrate mental illness and substance abuse prevention, intervention, and treatment with primary care

A detailed activity plan builds on the Collaborative plan by setting sub-goals and action steps in key strategic areas: policy, services and supports, financing, workforce, and advocacy. The care system we are working to build will follow national system of care principles.
